Meals at CSBBCS

University of Western OntarioLunches:

On Friday, conference participants should go to one of the campus eateries:

  • The Grad Club: Bottom floor of Middlesex College. Licensed bar and nice outdoor patio.
  • The Wave: Top floor of the University Community Centre. Licensed. Sit down meals with a fairly interesting menu. Limited seating.
  • The Spoke: Main floor of the University Community Centre. Licensed bar, outdoor patio. Mainly burgers and the like.
  • The Centre Spot: Main floor of the University Community Centre. The main campus cafeteria, consisting essentially of a variety of fast-food outlets (with a Tim Horton’s attached).
  • Lucy’s: Bottom floor of Somerville House. A scaled down version of the Centre Spot (with a Tim Horton’s attached).
  • Sebastian’s, Christina’s Pub: Both are slightly off campus, on Richmond St., just south of the UWO gates, so they involve a slightly longer walk. Each has its own charm.

On Saturday, the second poster session will be held in the Great Hall in Somerville House over the lunch hour. Sandwiches and the like will be available for purchase in the same general area as the posters. Note that the campus eateries will be closed on Saturday. Thus, if you don’t want to eat at the poster session, you will need to go off campus.

Dinners:

A list of restaurants is provided in the program to allow you to select a nice spot for dinners on Thursday and Friday. These will be restaurants in the general vicinity of campus, specifically:

  • the Masonville area (about 1.5 km north of campus)
  • the Richmond Row area (the part of Richmond St. from Oxford St. to Queen St., about 2 km south of campus)
  • downtown (mainly Dundas St. and King St., just south of Queen St.).

Conference Banquet:

On Saturday, we hope that everyone will attend the conference banquet in the Great Hall. The price will be $15 per person.
