General Information

The 34th Annual Meeting of the CSBBCS / SCSCCC will take place in-person June 25th to 27th 2024 at the University of Alberta. 

The CSBBCS / SCSCCC meeting provides an excellent opportunity for those involved in research in the fields of brain science, behavioural science and cognitive science to present their latest findings, to learn about new research developments, and to interact with others with similar interests. 

This year’s meeting will take place in person on the beautiful river valley campus of the University of Alberta. Come for the conference, stay for Edmonton!

Are you a student new to CSBBCS / SCSCCC? Welcome! Please purchase an Associate Membership ($40) then register for the conference as an Associate ($180). 

Abstract Submission

The CSBBCS 2024 Abstract Portal is now open!

Talks will be 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions
Posters can be a maximum of 6 feet wide x 4 feet tall

If your Abstract is part of an accepted Symposium, please ensure that under Abstract Type, you have selected ‘Submit Abstract to Symposium.’

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION is EXTENDED TO APRIL 29TH

We will process abstracts submitted before 22th April and aim to confirm 29th April.
We will process abstracts submitted before 29th April and aim to confirm 6th May.

Registration costs are $180 (Associate) and $220 (Full)

If you would like a t-shirt ($25 extra) added to your CSBBCS 2024 swag bag, please select this option upon Registration and select your size. To guarantee your size, you will need to register before June 3rd.

If you would like to join us for the CSBBCS 2024 Dinner Buffet on 26th June ($50 extra), please select this option upon Registration. Only 150 tickets available. All entrees with be Gluten Free and Dairy Free.

Rough conference timeline:

Tuesday June 25th

  • WiCS Canada meeting begins 1pm
  • posters end the day around 7pm, but there will be a student event afterwards for all students who care to join 

Wednesday June 26th

  • coffee and light breakfast available from 8am, first session begins at 8:30am
  • final talk ends around 5:45, and the paid banquet (registration required) begins around 6pm

Thursday June 27th

  • coffee and light breakfast available from 8am, first session begins at 8:30am
  • depending on the number of talks and posters, the afternoon could wrap up between 3:30pm and 6pm (provisionally finishing with CSBBCS AGM, and NSERC Meeting).
